Our forefather Abraham Avinu went through ten tests in his lifetime that determined not only his life but all his generations to come.
The hardest test he had to pass was the “Akeida” (the binding of Yitzchak). Imagine you wait your whole life to have a child and then H”S asks you to sacrifice him, how insane is this?
Nevertheless Abraham not only passed the test, and Yitzhak was spared B”H.
G-d tests us in order to bring hidden soul-powers to the fore. In fact, life in general is a test. The test is there to reveal your most inner dimension and to also reveal H”S in the world by giving us the opportunity to do the best we can and standing up to the test.
In life sometimes the same test will present to us numerous times disguised in different outfits, but if we look closer the underlying teaching is the same.
Our life is a tapestry of many different experiences in which each one makes the tapestry even more beautiful. Pain, growth, sorrow, loss, deceit, anguish, fear, etc… all these human feelings, when looked straight in the eyes and we know they are there to teach us something will transform into Joy, love, tranquility, patience, kindness and compassion. Don’t be afraid of life, grab it and live it.
