One of the most important realizations in being able to experience baseless love is to learn about the Oneness of G-d. G-d has many different names, each name represents a different expression of Him. For example:you are you, but you express differently depending who you are with. If you are with your spouse, hopefully, you will be loving and caring. If you are disciplining a child you will manifest yourself as an authority and so on.
In the Shema Yisrael we say “Shema Yisrael A-nai Elo-keinu A-nai Echad” ( listen Israel, the Lord ( infinite manifestation) is our G-d( G-d hidden in nature), The Lord is One(they are the same G-d).
G-d paradoxically can create individuality and simultaneously be one. To understand this concept the Alter Rebbe says “H”S is the sun and the shield”, He is both: the very strong light and the protector of that same light.
When we work in unity for the same cause this is what happens. Each one of us is a individual that has something very special to give to the whole. If one is missing, the whole is incomplete. Next time you feel threatened by someone else, think “we are all part of the One and each of us has something to give making us all One.”
