One of our biggest struggles in life is to have a positive image of ourselves. To be able to have baseless love towards others, we first need to have baseless love towards us, as Rabbi Akiva teaches “love your fellow like yourself.”
Your self image creates you!!!
In these days make it a point to begin viewing yourself as a person who loves and pursues peace. View yourself as someone with intrinsic worth and dignity. View yourself as someone who is a child of the Creator and has been created in His image.
When we prevent ourselves from this truth we negate not only ourselves but others the pleasure of a wonderful person.
As you view yourself as a person who loves and pursues peace, you will be able to not only carry love inside of you but you will give to all who meet you.
You will avoid quarrels and others will feel this way too.
It’s our actions that create our self-image. Even if inside we don’t feel like being this way, but nevertheless we bypass the feeling and we go to the action. ACTION is the name of the game, or as Nike’s famous logo “Just do it!”
Express yourself in a good way and these expressions of goodness will foster much self love and appreciation of who you are.
