KINDNESS is part of baseless LOVE. Once I heard a story told by Rabbi Manice Friedman were he recounted how in one of his retreats a lady came to him and said that she had come to the retreat because she wanted to become a nice person. She was very nasty and zero helpful towards others. At that moment lunch was being served and Rabbi Friedman was holding a pitcher of water so he told her if she could please help him serve the water, to what she answered “are you crazy, I have payed a lot of money to come to this retreat to learn, I didn’t come to serve water!” To what Rabbi Friedman answered “to be nice you just have to be, I was just giving you an opportunity to practice what you came to learn.”
