In today’s Ha Yom-Yom …

In today’s Ha Yom-Yom, the Lubavitcher Rebbe says:”My father said:’Truth is the middle path. An inclination to the right, to be overly stringent with one-self and find faults or sins not in accord with the truth, or an inclination to the left, to be overly indulgent, covering one’s faults or being lenient in demands of Avoda ( work on serving G-d) out of self love-both these ways are false.’ “
In Spanish we would say: “ni tanto ni tinto.”
What the Rebbe is teaching here is that in matters of Torah, but should also be applied to our material endeavors, we should not be fanatic and invent more than what the Torah asks from us, but at the same time we should keep the Mitzvahs to the letter of the law. We should not be so lenient that what it makes us do is serve ourselves and our comfort zone, but also we shouldn’t be over critical of ourselves and others not leaving room for growth and action, instead of blaming and bringing us down by thinking we are not good enough.
Everyone is more than good enough, we all have the potential to achieve the middle path and serve H”S with Joy
