In this weeks Torah Portion”Bereshit”, H”S creates the world in six days and the seventh day He rested. The whole of creation has a purpose and that is Shabbat. It’s like when you are going to celebrate a Simcha(birthday, Bar Mitzvah, wedding, etc…) you first begin
by getting everything done for the Big Event. You first make the guest list, get the caterer, buy the dress, find a florist, etc…. But this is not the purpose of what you are doing, they are all tools for the ultimate which is the person or people you are celebrating. The same is with the week days. H”S created them so we work six days so we can relax and enjoy the Shabbat. These six work days are the preparation for the SHABBAT. They are meaningless if they are not used for the ultimate purpose. When Meshiach comes this will be the ultimate purpose of creation. The six days represent the 6 millennium before Meshiach comes. We are now in the year 5776. G-d created this world to last 6000 years, we are 224 years away from reaching the year 6000 when finally we will enter the 7th Millenia which corresponds to the seventh day in creation “Shabbat”. So in technical terms we could say that we are living right now as if it would be 4:30pm on Friday, getting ready for Shabbat and everyone is rushing to get everything done. That is why the world has become so fast and time flies. Because what goes up goes down. In the upper realms they are rushing and down here we are rushing and there is no time to loose.
This mini Devar Torah is in honor of our brothers and sisters in the land of Israel who are suffering tremendously in these days, may we see better days very soon!
Shabbat Shalom❤️
