In this week’s Pa …

In this week’s Parashah “Beshalach”, H”S sends the Manna ( a special food that came from heaven) to the Jews so they would be nourished and sustained. There is a very big connection between The Manna, money and faith.
The Jews would receive every day their portion of Manna for the day. If they would put some away for later it would rot. The miracle was that G-d would send a double portion for Shabbat and the portion for Saturday wouldn’t rot.
If a person had much faith he would find it right at their doorstep, if he didn’t have so much faith he would need to go out and look for it.
So if our parnasah (sustenance) comes from G-d why do we suffer so much? Why do we work so hard? Why do we think it is in our hands how much we are going to make?
The answer is lack of Emunah (faith).
In Roshashanah it’s already decreed how much money we are going to make through the year no matter how hard we work. So why do we work? Because we have to elicit down here the blessing by creating a vessel where it can fall into.
So one of the lessons in this Parashah is that G-d is the one and only provider of our material wealth and sustenance. He will always give us what we need, we just have to tap into this abundant mentality and never forget where everything comes from. Use our blessings for the good honestly and honorably.
