In this weeks Parasha “Shemot”, we are introduced to one of the most influential, if not The Most influential, people there has ever been. From birth Moses was manifestly destined for greatness. Sensing this, his mother Yocheved saved his life by making Miriam, his sister, put him in the Nile River in a basket so Batya, Pharaoh’s daughter would see him and adopt him.
Moses used to stutter severely, which made him think that he was unworthy of the mission G-d had entrusted him of taking the Jewish people out of Egypt. Eventually accepts his mission and steps up to it and after 10 plagues and much suffering the Jewish people are finally redeemed from Egyptian bondage.
