In Parasha “Vayeira” (He appeared), Avraham is visited by three angels disguised as men. What Abraham loved the most was hosting people in his tent, fulfilling the mitzvah of Ochnasas Orechim.
In Bereshit 18:5-8 the Pasuk says:”and I will take bread… and Avraham ran to the herd, and fetched a tender and good calf…”
Avraham said to them that he would just take bread, but in reality he prepared a whole feast for them. Some people on the contrary say much and do nothing.
Rabbi Yeruchem Leibovitz commented on this that the whole idea of talking about what you plan to do is negative. When you think of doing a good deed, just go and do it, don’t dwell on it. What good comes from only saying and boasting?
The righteous person keeps his word, therefore he is very careful about making rash promises that might become hard for him to fulfill.
Some people say much and do nothing, let’s try to emulate Avraham saying nothing and doing much!
