In Parasha “Shemini” Nadav and Avihu, the two sons of Aharon, went into the “Holy of Holies” and offered an unauthorized incense, which elevated them to such an intense yearning for G-d that their souls left their bodies and they died.
There is a concept in Kabbalah called “Ratzo V’Shov” the run for the return. G- d wants us to have an immense love for Him, but that love should not be used to leave this world. We should use that love to constantly be inspired and excited about learning Torah and fulfilling the Mitzvot so we can always be ascending in our Divine consciousness. But this ascent should be used only to be able to return and bring it with us in our daily lives. By doing this we are able to infuse the world around us with much Kedusha (holiness).
The problem of Nadav and Avihu is that they didn’t understand that the ecstasy they felt for G-d was intended to be used down here to bring the revelation of G-d.
