Ideally one should not serve H”S for personal gain or considerations, however subtle. We should instead do what He desires simply because that is G-d’s will. Even to study or act for the sake of earning a reward on heaven is considered self-serving.
As I heard from Rabbi Amar once: “Instead of being worried about building our home in the Olam Haba (the World to come) we should be worried instead by building H”S home in this world and He in exchange will be worried building ours.
The study of Torah, prayer and acts of kindness are a treasure in this world, we should not miss even one opportunity when they come.
Shabbat is one of those golden pots full of blizz.
Wishing everyone a Shabbat Shalom
