At the end of Parasha …

By June 7, 2019 No Comments

At the end of Parasha “Noach,” we learn about the generation of dispersion. A few generations after the flood, the new inhabitants of the world decided to build the Tower of Babel. They worked very hard in unity to reach heaven. Their agenda was to take over G-d’s Rulership and rule the world. But H”S messed up their language and made everyone speak a different language. Since they couldn’t understand each other, they began to fight. This created them to be dispersed and separated. They thought they could bypass H”S order and receive the blessings, but they were wrong.
The secret of life is to pursue “PEACE.” Shalom is the vessel that contains the blessings. If there is no peace there is no blessing.
Shabbat is the day in the world in which we are in Peace. The Shabbat candles usher in the peace to the home, which trickles down to the world.
First we need to ignite this light within us, we need to be at peace with ourselves, others, and H”S. Then we can bring that peace into our home, and the home will bring it to the world.
Practice Shalom, it is better to have peace than to be right, the outcome will be much more influential and lasting.
