“And Yosef said to his brothers, Ani Yosef (I am Yosef)” (Bereshit 45:3)
The Chofetz Chayim explained that from the time the brothers first came down to Egypt to get food and Yosef spoke to them harshly and mistreated them by accusing them of being spies made them very puzzled about what was happening. They saw the hand of G-d in everything and felt that H”S was making them live what they had put Yosef to go through.
But as soon as they heard the words “Ani Yosef,” Everything became crystal clear to them.
Similarly, said the Chofetz Chayim, when the entire world will hear the words “I am Hashem” with the coming of Moshiach, all our questions and difficulties that people had about the history of the world with all of its suffering will be answered.
Everyone will see how the hand of G-d caused everything for our benefit.
When we are able to see the purpose and meaning behind the suffering it makes it much easier to cope with.
Even if Moshiach hasn’t arrived yet, we can use this Faith in our lives, the knowledge that there is an ultimate meaning will enable you to view the situation in a positive, although painful, manner.
