“And they came to Eil …

“And they came to Eilim, and there were twelve springs of water, and seventy palm trees, and they encamped by the water.”(Shemot 15:27)
Klal Israel came to Eilim after going to Marah, where they couldn’t drink the water because it was very bitter. At Eilim in the contrary they had more than enough water to drink.
The Chofetz Chaim comments in this that mortals have limited vision. Because of our limitations we are full of complaints. The water at Marah tasted bitter because they themselves were bitter.
The source of people’s complaints in this world, said the Chofetz Chayim, is that they are not able to see what will be in a short time. If Klal Israel would of known that they were going to stop for twenty days in Eilim vs the one day in Marah they would of had patience.
The best antidote for worrying about the future is past experience. “Wait and see!!!” Don’t suffer with no reason by assuming that you will suffer in the future. Develop a greater trust in H”S, be patient, and live in the moment.
