And G-d made a monumental miracle for The Jewish people when they came out of Egypt, He parted the Yam Suf ( Red Sea) for them to pass to the other side safely and then drowned the Egyptians that were chasing after them. The miracle was that G- d was able to change the nature of something since its creation and then returned it to its natural state (liquid to solid and the solid to liquid).
H”S kept the Jews in the dessert alive from miracle to miracle, the Mana fell every day for them ( heavenly food), the cloud of glory followed them day and night protecting them from the elements and illuminating the way at night and sheltering from the torching sun during the day and Miriam’s well ( a rock that gave water) would quench their thirst. Although they survived through miracles G- d also made them fight wars and fear they wouldn’t have what they needed, they would constantly complain to Moses for things they didn’t have.G-d would make them fluctuate between the miraculous and the mundane so they wouldn’t get used to it, for “a constant pleasure is no pleasure at all”. When you get used to something you think that is the norm, once you don’t have it you realize you had taken it for granted. The Jews were and still are described as stubborn people. They are stubborn because they are not convinced easily to change or grow spiritually. Their true change comes from their own free will to decide to change. Their growth comes from within, not from external experiences. So the miracle can be a motivator, but only his/her resolve to do it can really be the true reason of his/her moving forward and connecting to G-d through Torah and Mitzvahs.
