“And Betzalel the son of Chur of the tribe of Yehudah did all that G-d commanded Moshe.” (Shemot 38:22)
Rashi states that Betzalel realized on his own that the proper order was to make the Tabernacle first and then the vessels. Although at first Moses told Betzalel to do it in the reverse way, but then he realized that Betzalel was correct.
When building a house, first the house needs to be built and then they acquire the appropriate furniture to put in the home.
From this verse we learn how important it is to have the right priorities and organizational skills to do things in order.
This is an important tool for accomplishing anything in life. First we need to know what must be done and then make a list in order of importance of what needs to be done.
This concept doesn’t only apply to our to do things in life, it also applies to life itself. We first need to know what is truly important in our lives: G-d, ourselves, our family, friends, community and so on. When we have our priorities straight we will give time to what really needs time and we will let go of so many things that are unnecessary that hold us back and consume our precious time.
