“And Abraham was old, …

“And Abraham was old,he came with his days.”(Bereshit 24:1)
The sages teach that “Abraham came with all his days,” means that not one moment of his life was wasted. Each and every day of his life he accomplished something.
Every day that we wake up should be seen as a new experience from any other. We should not live our lives thinking that today is the continuation of yesterday and tomorrow should be continued. We should wake every morning with new energy eager to see what the day has to offer. Our whole life can change in one day. We should ask ourselves every morning “what can I accomplish today?” “What do you need me for today H”S?” And at the end of the day,ask yourself “what did I accomplish today?”
The important and relevant thing here is that our days become purposeful and meaningful. When we make an accounting of our day we will live more aware of time and in this way we will value it more and not waste it away.
When you make the list of your accomplishments tonight, give yourself a pat in the back. If you feel you didn’t accomplish anything do one small thing before you go to sleep. Some ideas are: call someone who needs a kind word, send a donation to a worthy cause, sit and learn some Torah, make a list of goals, clean your clutter, etc…
Time is so precious that if we don’t work on seeing its value it will just slip away from us.
