All of us have dreams of accomplishing certain goals in our lives. It can be having a beautiful loving family, being a successful entrepreneur, being more connected to G-d, etc… To be able to achieve our dreams we first have to be the person that achieves this goals. For example, if you want a more loving family then you have to be a more loving person. Abraham Avinu had to leave the comfort of his surrounding and he had to go to himself. What does this mean? If you want to be kind, BE KIND. If you want to be more giving, BE GIVING. We just have to be who we want to be.
