According to Webster’s New Collegiate Dictionary’s the definition of happiness is:
“A state of well-being and contentment.
The Torah’s path which is referred as a “tree of life” say “Her ways are ways of pleasantness.” The Torah’s path is a path of joy, as its stated ” The person with a good heart (Torah Values) has a continual feast.”(Chochmah Umussar, Bol 2,pg 90).
Happiness is an obligation to oneself, to ones fellow man, and to the Creator.
The happiness to strive for is an inner feeling of happiness that will accompany you through life. It is a feeling of joy about your lot in the world and a sense of empowerment about your spiritual service.
This in return will give you serenity of the soul, wholeness and satisfaction at the deepest level.
