According to Rabbi Noa …

According to Rabbi Noa Weimberg Z”L in his book “48 Ways to Wisdom” he says that the first step in acquiring wisdom is “Talmud,” which means to use your mind to learn and grow in the ultimate manner. Then he explains that there are five C’s that are a must: Constant, Consistent, Continuous, Cyclical, and Comprehensive.
Constant means that we need to use our mind constantly. The brain is a muscle and it needs exercise. Rabbi Weinberg suggests that we should work on giving our full attention to whatever we are doing.
Consistent, this is the key to spiritual growth and learning Torah. Put some time away every day to learn something. It can be from a Torah book, a Torah based website, with someone, etc… This needs to become a priority for you so you can achieve it.
Continuous means that you should use your “Netzach” (endurance/persistence) in your Torah learning. It’s better to learn 30 minutes with no interruptions than many hours with interruptions. You can’t bring a pot of water to boil if you keep taking it off the fire.
Cyclical is referring to the importance of repetition and reviewing what we learn. The Talmud states “whoever learns but does not review is like a person who sows but does not reap
(Sanhedrin 99a).
And lastly but not least Comprehensive means that we should be a student of life. When you view yourself as a learner, using your mind and being fascinated with life you will always find opportunities to acquire wisdom.
Life is toooooo precious to waste away. Make the commitment to use your wonderful mind to discover life’s deepest wisdom.
