This week we start reading the Torah from the beginning with Parasha Bereshit.
“Bereshit Barah Elokim”, “In the beginning of G-ds creation…”
Here we see that before the world was created G-d already existed, so it’s implied that there was something before we came into being. We are taught in the Midrash that G-d created the world as a “lower realm”, a realm initially devoid of Divine consciousness, and even opposed to it- intending that humanity fill the world with Divine consciousness. The tool that G-d gave humanity in order for us to accomplish this feat is the Torah, for the Torah is the blueprint of creation. Just as an architect has a blueprint for his building H”S had The Torah in order to build the world. The Torah is G-ds will and we are given the mission to fulfill His will so we can fulfill our purpose in creation.
G-d gave us the biggest gift of all which is Free Choice so it can be through our merit that we fulfill His purpose in creation by choosing Him we are living up to who we really are.
