The Alter Rebbe “Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi” the author of The Tanya (The book of the Intermideate”. Teaches that we have to learn to think with our heart and feel with our brain. This is a concept that was given to us by H”S at Mount Sinai with the giving of the Torah. We have to learn to feel the right emotions that are appropriate for the moment by thinking if they are the correct ones. For example, if someone doesn’t treat you nice you could react by getting all fussed up and upset, or you could stop and think for one second and give the person the benefit of the doubt ” maybe that person is upset about something else and it’s taking it up on you, maybe that person has no manners, maybe that person is having big problems. Whatever the case is, your problem is that you have to deal with the emotion this person is generating on you. Stop and think “what is my growth opportunity at this moment? What is H”S trying to say to me? What is the correct response(according to Torah) to deal with this situation?
When we become more aware of our surroundings, the people and events that take place in our lives we will definitely learn to rewire our brains to be more in tune with our hearts and we will live differently by being more at peace and happier.
