Wishing everyone a Shabbat Shalom!!!
The preparations to receive the Shabbat are as important as the Shabbat itself. The woman of the home is the one that generally takes care of everything (grocery shopping, preparing the food, making sure the house is clean and tidy, getting nice clothes for the family, setting the table, etc…) but it is very important also that the husband does something to help the wife. Men usually should prepare the candles for the wife to light and also to do it Mehadrim Le Mehadrim (beautify the mitzvah) he buys flowers for the wife to make more beautiful the Shabbat. Shabbat is like a marriage between the Jewish people and G-d and its represented down here in how the husband and the wife relate. Shabbat is not only a commandment from the Torah but it’s also an opportunity to enhance the Shalom Bayit of the home by showing the children the respect and love between the parents which will eventually build them up to also continue building homes of their own where peace and harmony reigns.
