Today, the 24th of Teve …

Today, the 24th of Tevet, is the Yurtzeid (death anniversary) of the Alter Rebbe (Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi 1745-1812).
The Alter Rebbe was the founder of Chabad Chassidut and was also the author of the Tanya (Sefer Ha Benoni, the book of the intermediate).
The Tanya is practical Kabbalah and it’s a mystical compendium of the Torah.
The Alter Rebbe wrote this Sefer to help people deal with their day to day lives. Thanks to the teachings of the Baal a Tanya many Jews have been able to come back to their roots with wisdom, understanding and knowledge of the make up of human nature and the purpose of life.
B”H I personally started learning Tanya more than a decade ago and today I am proof that there is a way to live with a clear mind and conscience. I have come to understand myself better and those around me. Today I live a life full of Torah and Mitzvots. It hasn’t been easy, you have to take “the long short way” as the Tanya teaches so you can achieve success in your life. Nothing comes for free and nothing is easy, but in the struggle is the reward.
So today I want to personally thank Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi for lighting the way.
