Shabbat Shalom!!!!
Woke up today in my favorite place in the whole wide world “JERUSALEM” of Gold.
A little insight into our Parasha Va’eira before going into Shabbat.
“Ani A-dnai” “I am G-d” (6:2)
This statement is G-d’s preface to His announcement that He is about to redeem His people. It informs us that the reason He exiled us to Egypt was in order to bring us to the level of Divine consciousness signified by the name Havaya.
The name Havaya connotes G-d’s trustworthiness because it indicates His transcendence (that He is not limited by the laws of the world He himself created. In order to make us fully aware of His transcendence, G-d had to put us in a context of seemingly inescapable limitation and then remove us from it. Egypt (Mitsraim) is the perfect venue for this demonstration- it’s very name means “limitation”.
