“And they shall Make Me a sanctuary and I will dwell in their midst”(25:11).
In this weeks Torah portion of “Terumah” (offering). G-d spoke to Moses and asked him to make for Him a sanctuary in this world. When G-d created the world, the intention was for Him to make a home for us in this realm. By us building a Sanctuary for G-d, we are also making for Him a home down in this realm. The wording of this Pasuk doesn’t say “and they shall make Me a sanctuary so I can dwell in it” it says “make Me a sanctuary so I can dwell in their midst” which means so I can dwell in you. G-d wants to be a part of us. By us dedicating our lives to serve Him by studying Torah and doing Mitzvahs we are allowing Him to dwell in us. Sadly when we don’t live a
G-dly life we are not allowing Him to be a part of us.
