In this week’s Parasha “Ki Tisa”( you shall lift up) G-d commands Moses to make a tax-census of the Jewish people. There are few times that G-d counts us.He does it because for Him we are very precious and He wants to make sure that we are complete. When we make others feel that they are important and worthy we lift them up.
Today I had the fortune of going to a special wing of burnt victims that was redone in the most spectacular way you could imagine. When I was walking around the unit for children I couldn’t stop thinking about what this Pasuk means. The children felt worthy and important, they felt they mattered and that someone cared enough to make for them a beautiful place where they could heal. For sure they were lifted up.
