Shavuah Tov!!! Wishing everyone a blessed and beautiful week. This week’s Parasha “Vayikra” which begins a new book of the five books of the Torah, also called “Vayikra” . This book talks mostly about the animal sacrifices that were done in the times of the Temple. When we read it it is very hard for us to understand that H”S would ask us to do this. The truth is that we have an animal soul and a G-dly soul. These sacrifices represented our different animalistic tendencies. When the animal was sacrificed, what was being sacrificed was the animal in us. Today we are forbidden of this practice because we have no Temple and it’s replaced by prayer. When we pray we sacrifice the animal in us and connect to the G-dly in us. It’s through our attachment to H”S and His will that we sacrifice our Egos to be able to live by His will and not ours. For when we live by G-d’s will we really are doing our G-dly will, which is one and the same.
