Wishing everyone a Shabbat Shalom, we should all go To PEACE.people always say “go In peace”, but the Gemara says this is not the correct wording, the correct wording is “Lech L’Shalom” go TO PEACE. Because in life and everything we do our most important priority should be to go to peace, even if we are right about something, we should let it go for the sake of Peace.
This Shabbat we read Parasha “Zachor” which talks about the mitzvah of wiping and eradicating Amalek. The evil Haman ( in the story of Purim, which is next week) was a descendant of Amalek. The gematria( numerical value) of the word Amalek is 240 which is the same as the word “safek” which means doubt.
It is not by chance that we read this Parasha next to Parasha “Vaykra”, which talks about the sacrifices just before Purim. Every time the Jews are almost wiped out by our enemies it’s because we loose the passion for keeping our Mitzvahs. Doubt starts lurking into our minds and we start loosing that loving feeling. Only through sacrificing our animal soul and putting G-d before anything we will be able to maintain our passion alive and in this way we are always going to Peace within ourselves and the world around us.
