Tonight after nightfall we conclude the counting of the Omer with “Malchut Shebe Malchut” (Kingship within Kingship).
We are G-d’s creations and at the same time we are His subjects. In reality it is we who make Him a King.
Abraham Lincoln concluded his Gettysburg Address with the hope “that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.” The authority and honor of the president is not because of who he is, but because he represents the people.
The president or the King “is the people”.
Our constant awareness that we are Godly, and that everything we do represents G-d’s Kingship in this world, empowers us and brings us dignity and honor from those we come into contact.
Ask yourself “Who do I represent?” It has been an honor to have been able to take you through the 49 days of the Omer. My sincere hope is that we all have come out more refined and aware in our perception of our inherent value. With more AHAVA (love) towards ourselves and others.
Now we are ready to receive our precious Torah tomorrow night!
Shabbat Shalom
