Rosh Chodesh Tov!!! Today we begin the fourth month of the Jewish year “Tammuz”. After the last three months,since we left Egypt in the month of Nissan, which were full of positive feelings and many blessings, the next two months, Tammuz and Av, are months in which tremendous light was supposed to come into our world. With the Giving of the Tablets and Moses bringing them down on the 16th of Tammuz we were scheduled to enter the land of Israel and Meshiach should of come. But with the sin of the Golden Calf, the incident of the spies, Korah’s rebellion and a few more mishaps we fell into a different reality.
In the month of Tammuz we have the opportunity to rectify our sight. As our sages teach “what the eyes see the heart wants”. In this month we are taught how to see in the dark. The suffering that has been inflicted on us is only there so we can bring down concealed blessings. The darkness around us is there only so we can shine and hopefully our eyes will start looking at what is really good for us and our hearts will want to bring revealed good once and for all.
