In this week’s Pa …

In this week’s Parasha (Torah Portion) “Va’eschanan” (I implored), Moses prays to G-d to allow him to enter the land of Israel. The Gematria (numerical value) of Va’eschanan is 515, this alludes to Moses beseeching H”S 515 times to let him in.
The sages say that if he would’ve of prayed one more time H”S would of said yes.
Sometimes we wonder if our prayers are really heard? The Pasuk says “I implored Hashem at that time…. and He did not listen to me.”(3:23,26)
H”S did not listen but He did hear him. In other words, His response was negative.
Chassidut teaches us that no prayer goes unanswered. Maybe it won’t be answered positively in our moment of need, but for sure it will be guarded for another moment. Maybe for ones child or grandchild.
In the book written by Rabbi Heshy Kleinman, “Praying With Fire”, a lady asks the Rabbi “I don’t get it, I prayed so hard for my husbands Refuah (healing), I even put others to pray for him, I even became more religious. Why did G-d take him away, why didn’t he heal him?”
To what Rabbi Kleinman answered “we don’t know G-d’s ways, but one thing is for sure, all those prayers and Teshuvah didn’t go unanswered. Every single prayer and act of return dressed your husband with merits. If we believe in the world to come, then your husband arrived glowing from all the acts done in his name.”
So Hashem does hear our prayers and not one of them is wasted. Maybe we can’t change the outcome but for sure the praying will change us.
