“The essence of each one of us is good and holy because it is a part of G-d, the challenge is to recognize this very special part of ourselves that resides very deep inside and to allow it to shine on the outside.”(Rabbi Simon Jacobson)
The new age movement has brought the idea of change:”we have to be better, we have to grow, away with the old in with the new, new and improved…” Jewish thought teaches us different. We don’t have to change, we don’t have to improve, we just have to unearth who we really are, we have to learn to tap into our inherent goodness, we just have to BE.
TESHUVAH means to return to who you really are and that is what the month of ELUL is really all about.
