Shavuah Tov!!! Wishing everyone a blessed and purposeful week.
Today we enter the final week of Elul, when we begin to recite Selichot, the special prayers for forgiveness.
The only way in which we can move forward in our lives is when we acknowledge that we have erred and that we have the capacity to make amends. This realization empowers us to take responsibility for our actions and changes us from being the “Victim” of circumstances to the “Victor” of our challenges.
This strength doesn’t come alone, our past generations have paved the road for us. In relation to them we can be midgets, but we stand on the shoulders of giants, because of this we have the ability to see more than what they did.
We are asked to do only what we are capable of. Reb Zusha of Anapoli said “when I die, I won’t be asked ‘why weren’t you like Moses? I’ll be asked why weren’t you like Zusha’?”
We just have to be honest with ourselves and do what is in our power. We should take the lessons learned by our forefathers and add our part to their achievements. We should always strive to raise the bar and not diminish it.
Live a little higher
