In this week’s Parasha “BO” (come) as in the verse “Come to Pharaoh” (Exodus 10:1) teaches us a lesson. The normal wording would be for G-d to say to Moses “Go to Pharaoh”, but instead He says “Come to Pharaoh.” What G-d is teaching us here is that when we have a problem in life we have to confront it head straight. “Come to Pharaoh” really means “come to Me”, H”S is in the problem-He is the problem. Every challenge we are put to in our lifetime is there to get us closer to G-d and to correct a flaw in ourselves. It is not enough for a person to do good in his life, he also has to eradicate the bad, it must be crushed at its root so it doesn’t grow back.
Therefore G-d told Moses to “Come to Pharaoh” in his palace, where he resides in all his glory and crush all the evil and only then the Exodus would occur.
In our daily life, this means that a person should identify the primary ” desire” which burns in his heart- the root of his personal evil- and launch an attack on that desire full force. When he succeeds in his mission, he will then find that his other personal struggles follow effortlessly in its wake.
Our Chassidic sages teach us “only fear H”S”, which means “your true fear should be to do anything that will separate you from G-d”
