Shavuah Tov!!! Wishing everyone a blessed and successful week.
This week’s Parashah “Tzav” (Command) on H”S instruction to Moses to command the priests how to perform the rites of the ascent-offerings after they have been placed on the Altar.
“The fire on the Altar shall be lit on itself and must not be extinguished…”(Tzav 6:5)
The Lubavitcher Rebbe, Menachem Mendel Schneerson, explains that just as there was a physical sanctuary we ourselves are sanctuaries to H”S. Our heart is the Altar in which our passion for G-d burns and we should never let it extinguish. Our love for H”S should be shown outward through our learning Torah, prayer and acts of love and kindness.
We are finite beings that have the capacity to transcend into infinity. Time is limited by seconds, minutes, hours, days, etc…
But the way in which we can bring the infinite into the finite is by keeping our fire burning and in this way our acts will never become dull and cold. The Torah we learn, the prayers we say, and the kindness that we do in a constant way will transcend time and space bringing H”S Glory into this world and even after we depart in 180 years this constant fire we had will follow us to the world to come forever and our children and grandchildren will continue in our footsteps keeping the flame alive in this world.
