Today is the 13th of Elul already, 16 more days to go till Rosh Hashanah.
Everyone in his essence is good and holy because we come from the essence of G-d. Our challenge in life is to recognize and acknowledge this holy part in ourselves and others.
The Job of Elul is to polish ourselves to the point we shine like diamonds .
The first step is to recognize that holy spark within, the second step is to actualize it. Although this is not easy because we do have an evil inclination that is constantly pressuring us to go the other way and live an egotistical and narcissist life, nevertheless if we are aware of it and we work on it it is very doable. H”S will never expect the impossible from us.
The Torah gives us the guidelines to access that inner part of us and actualize it in our everyday life.
We do not need to change who we are, we don’t need to be someone we are not, we just need to reveal the holiness that is inside by living a holy, dignified, and good life.
Our job here is simple, we just need to always strive to be the best we can be with the tools H”S gave us.
Look at your inner worth. Ask yourself: “in which way can I bring out my specialness and use it to better this world and live up to my calling?” Life is precious and our time in this world is limited. There is no time to waste.
