This Shabbat Mebarechim will be the last Shabbat of the year 5777. This Shabbat is very special for many reasons. Usually on the last Shabbat of the month the congregation bless the new month to come, this Shabbat is different, we don’t bless the new month because H”S Himself blesses it for us and on Rosh Hashana He blesses the whole year. This year Shabbat falls on the 25 of Elul which is the Birthday of the world. H”S started creating the world on this day 5778 years ago. The first day of Tishrei is the birthday of humanity because on that day He created Adam and Eve.
So this Shabbat is the day that carries nothing less than the energy of the creation of existence-time,space,matter,dark-
ness,and light.
We read Parasha Nitzavim were it’s written “Atem nitzavim hayom” (you stand this day), “this day” refers to Rosh Hashana which is the day of Judgemet. Yet you remain standing firmly upright, meaning you will be vindicated in judgement.
And on this last Shabbat of the year we stand all together as one with G-d our G-d firmly to receive our blessing.
