On the ten days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur we are given a tremendous opportunity to connect to H”S. Maybe it’s because we are more in tune with H”S these days and we can feel the holiness of the month that we are given so many opportunities to do Mitzvahs and gain merits. Every thing you do even if it looks insignificant becomes huge. For example: when we call a parent to say hi, this week that simple act gains so much more. Or if you are careful with eating only kosher this week, or with not judging others. All year we should be doing this, but this week is extra valuable. Why? Because H”S wants us to succeed, He wants us to have a clean slate so He can give us a beautiful year.
We could ask ourselves:”Am I being hypocritical by acting in a way higher than who I am?” The answer is NO, because in reality that is who you really are.
Everything is counted, so be extra careful and mindful in everything you think,say or do.
These ten days of Teshuvah represent a type of coming home experience, in which we are operating with our higher self, our true self.
