When Jacob was on his way to encounter his Brother Eisav, who he hadn’t seen for 34 years, he prostrated seven times as he approached his brother.
From here we learn that in life it’s better to have peace than to be right. To be able to do this we need to work on being humble.
This character trait gives us the ability to see farther than what meets the eye. It allows us to have vision and it lets us focus on where we want to go and what we want to achieve. Jacob understood that Eisav had certain qualities that he didn’t possess.
In the Kabbalistic perspective of Eisav, he represents the material world and Jacob represents the spiritual world. By harnessing the material world into the service of the spiritual we can find a harmony between Eisav and Jacob and this will bring the final Messianic Redemption.
This is what Jacob understood and this is why when going to meet Eisav he bowed seven times while approaching him, which in return made Eisav also want to connect to his brother.
