In the Gemara there are seven liquids listed: honey,blood,water,oil,wine,dew,and milk. Each one of these liquids correspond to one of our holidays. Honey corresponds to Rosh Hashana, Blood to Yom Kipur (because by fasting we are giving our life force),Water to Sukkot (we celebrate the water drawing), Oil corresponds to Chanukah (for the miracle of the oil), Wine corresponds to Purim (we drink till we don’t know wicked Haman to righteous Mordechai), Dew to Pesach (when H”S gave us the Torah at Mount Sinai we were revived with dew), and Milk to Shavuot (because on Shavuot is costumery to eat milky products due that when the Torah was given we still didn’t have the laws of properly eating meat. Also the Torah is our sustenance just like babies are nourished by their mother’s milk ).
The two holidays that will be celebrated after Meshiach comes are Chanukah and Purim. Why? What happened to the rest?
The liquids that correspond to these holidays:honey, blood, water, dew, and milk are made by H”S. There is no human intervention. But Oil and Wine need human intervention to be produced. What this teaches us is that everything that comes from above directly to us will not have a profound effect on us, only when we put our effort and our sweat we become partners with H”S building an everlasting relationship. This is why Chanukah and Purim are everlasting.
