The third plague, was the plague of Lice, before this plague happened the Egyptian thought that the first (blood) and the second (frogs) were made with witchcraft. When the third one came, they realized this one came from G-d, because witchcraft couldn’t produce something so small.
Lice is a parasite that lives from sucking the blood of animals or humans. They only take and don’t give anything in return.
When H”S infested the Egyptians with Lice He was showing them that their indifference and lack of humility to the Divinity had converted them into parasites, that only knew how to take without giving anything in return. All their achievements in the arts, architecture,science and others had only served to make their Egos bigger and make their material lives better, but in Holy pursuits they lacked completely. There was no kindness or regard for the other whatsoever.
