Tonight and tomorrow we celebrate the Rosh Hashanah of the trees our botanical friends.
It is a costume to celebrate it partaking of a Seder eating as many fruits as possible, specially the seven species of the Land of Israel.
This Seder has the effect of repairing the way we eat the entire year and the primordial sin of Adam and Eve when they ate from the tree of good and evil.
H”S created the world because it gives Him pleasure at the same time, the act of eating is intended to give us immense pleasure. The problem is that there is Holy pleasure and unholy pleasure. When we eat because of anxiety, gluttony, or not mindfully in a disrespectful way like munching a sandwich while walking on the street, it falls in the category of unholy eating. But when we sit down in a clean set table and we bless G-d for the gifts He gives us then we do it in a holy way.
So tonight and tomorrow we have the opportunity to tap into the holy pleasure of eating and to repair what is not right.
The seven species of the Land of Israel:wheat, barley, grapes, figs, pomegranates, olives, and dates are unique in that they provide the necessary nutrients for our sustenance.
The Kabbalists explain that there is a much deeper significance to these species, each corresponds to one of the seven sefirot(Divine emotive attributes).Wheat to Kindness (Chesed) Barley to Severity(Gevurah)Grapes to Harmony(Tiferet)Figs to endurance(Netzach) Pomegranates to humility(Hod)Olives to foundation (Yesod) and Dates to Royalty(Malchut)
Remember tonight the Giver of the gifts by thanking Him for all the bounty.
