Shavuah Tov! Wishing everyone a blessed week.
Today we begin counting the fifth week of the Omer with “Hod” (Humility/Splendor).
Humility is the the fuel which gives the strength we need to overcome everything in life.
Humility “Hod” comes from the Hebrew word “hoda’ah” which means : “thank you” to G-d. It is the ability to recognize our qualities and strengths and acknowledging they come from H”S so you can accomplish your mission in this world.
Today is the 29th day of the Omer with “Chesed Shebe Hod” (Lovingkindness within Humility) it is also the 14th of Iyar in which we celebrate Pesach Sheni. On the 14th of Nissan The Jewish people were commanded to offer the Paschal offering to G-d. Some Jews were ritually impure at that time and consequently could not bring the offering. H”S gave a second chance to them by offering one month later. So today there is a Mitzvah to eat matzah and remember that H”S always gives us a second chance to do Teshuvah and connect to Him. What can be more “Chesed Shebe Hod” than this. When we ourselves give second chances to those we love and to ourselves, without judging and wanting what’s the best for the other.
