Current research supports that: learn to think in a certain way and you will dream that way as well.
The Torah thousands of years ago was already correcting our sleeping patterns. “Thought” is one of the garments that clothes our soul. The other two are “speech and action.”
Since they can be compared to clothes we can change them very easily.
Thoughts create our feelings, what we think is what we feel.
Just as G-d created the world with His thoughts and words, us human beings mold our own lives with our thoughts and words. We basically create our own reality and this is so deep that we even take it to our subconscious which transfers it to our dreams and sometimes even nightmares.
A mind that contemplates negative thoughts will eventually become shrouded in darkness and gloom. Negativity doesn’t leave space for light to enter. And where there is no light only darkness acumulares.”Negativity Attracts MORE NEGATIVITY…”
Our challenge in life is to be the masters of our own thoughts, speech, and actions.
Have a plan B for when these thoughts come to plague you. First you must be aware of this trend, second, have something that you can substitute this thought with (a happy song, a psalm, Shema Israel, a beautiful memory, an imaginary happy place, etc…). The more you redirect your mind to positivity the easier it will get.
The Rebbe used to say “think good and it will be good.” Everything is in your head, that is the control center of our body and remember you can choose to think differently and this will allow you to experience everything in a different and positive way. And also have good dreams.
