Shavuah Tov!!! Wishing …

By June 7, 2019 No Comments

Shavuah Tov!!! Wishing everyone a blessed week.
This week we read Parashah “Vayishlach” (He sent). “ Yaakov sent angels ahead to Eisav, his brother, to the land of Seir.”(Bereshit 32:4)
The Midrash (Bereshit Rabba 75:2) censures Yaakov for sending this messengers. Many years had already passed and Eisav had already calmed down about Yaakov’s taking his blessing from their father Yitzchak and had already moved on. By sending the messengers, to let him know that he was approaching him brought back those memories and it aroused Eisav’s anger.
What the Torah is teaching us here, is that when two people were once involved in a quarrel, it’s better not to mention it ever again, when things have settled down and time has passed.
By bringing up the issue when it’s not necessary to do so, a new quarrel will unfold that could of been prevented.
Many people spend numerous hours of their lives engaged in quarrels and arguments about matters that no longer make any practical difference.
The punchline here is that arguments should be forgotten, not remembered.
