Tonight we light the second candle of Chanukah.
As it was in the case of the oppressive Greek rule, in which every day it became darker for the Jews, we must learn that no matter how hard and dark times might seem, one must never despair G-d forbid. But on the contrary, it is necessary to fortify oneself with complete trust in G-d, the Essence of all Goodness, and take to heart in firm belief that the darkness is only temporary, and it will soon be superseded by a bright light, which will be seen and felt all the more strongly through the supremacy of light over darkness.
